The world is changing. And our industry is changing with it.

Global changes are becoming increasingly important for the survival of companies. In concrete terms, this means that brands must position themselves in such a way that they are able to react quickly and competently to emerging macroeconomic and overall economic developments.

Industry, business and culture - these are the most important constants in a highly fast-paced, digitalized and constantly changing world of tomorrow. If we look at these parameters globally, we see that there are five areas of innovation that will profoundly change industry, business and culture in the coming years. And the only way to respond to these shifts is to have a detailed understanding of how consumer desires and behavior will evolve in the future. The world will look different tomorrow. But we are already responding today.

Climate change

Climate change affects industry and the economy on many different levels. New demographic developments are emerging, while climate change is causing new migration movements and extreme weather phenomena. The number of environmentally conscious consumers in our target group is growing rapidly. We and other companies are therefore called upon to take these changes into account when developing new products and innovative services.

Simple and sustainable solutions

In the highly developed industrialized nations, people are getting older and older, while birth rates are falling at the same time. Opportunities for brands and companies such as Schiedel lie increasingly in the development of simple and sustainable solutions for the home, as consumers are using trends such as "cocooning" or "hygge" to bring homeliness back to the fore and redefine it for themselves.

New materials

New manufacturing options such as 3D printing are gaining momentum and, thanks to quantum leaps in quality, are now being used more and more not only in the industrial production of samples, but also in the production of components - more than one in four industrial companies have already integrated 3D printers into their manufacturing processes. We expect the technology to have a significant impact on current production processes, business models and value chains over the next 10 years. Internally, we are driving the future with our Factory Excellence program by constantly improving our production processes in order to be closer to our customers and make logistics more efficient. Our BIM offering, the 3D CAD database, innovations and training for architects all contribute to this.

Data as a raw material

The ability to equip products with the ability to deliver and respond to data in real time via sensor technology and web connectivity enables companies to gain new insights into usage and potential areas of optimization. Scientific advances and innovations thus increase the efficiency and competitiveness of companies. At Schiedel, we also have to ask ourselves how we can generate and analyze customer data with our products in order to optimize and adapt our offerings. Ongoing market and technology research within and outside our industry is essential.
