(Sudbury, 07. August 2025) Individuals with dyslexia may face significant challenges when re-training and returning to a classroom environment, often leading to feelings of anxiety and fear.
These neurodevelopmental conditions can affect learning, social interaction, and executive function, creating a complex set of barriers to traditional learning settings.
The combined effects of these conditions can make the idea of re-training daunting. Individuals may fear a repeat of negative experiences from their previous schooling, such as being misunderstood, singled out, or judged. The classroom environment itself—with its structured schedules, social pressures, and traditional teaching methods—can feel like an unsuitable and intimidating setting. This fear is not just about academic performance but also about social acceptance and personal well-being.
At the National Chimney Academy, we understand these challenges and pride ourselves on the comprehensive support we provide to help delegates overcome them. Our goal is to create a happy and comfortable learning environment where every individual feels valued and confident.
Cameron came to us with all of the concerns mentioned above. We are pleased to say that, with the support of our team, he passed with flying colours.
“I recently completed my HETAS course at Specflues National Chimney Academy, and I honestly couldn’t have done it without the support of the instructors Martin & David.
As someone with dyslexia, I often find classroom environments challenging – especially when there’s a lot of written information and technical detail involved.
But from day one both instructors went out of their way to make the course accessible for me. They explained things clearly, gave me the time I needed to process the material and made sure I never felt left behind.
The way they broke down complex regulations and installation techniques into practical, hands-on learning really worked for me. Their patience, encouragement and teaching style made a huge difference to my confidence – not just passing the course, but believing I could succeed in this trade.
I’m genuinely grateful to Specflue and the training team making my learning experience inclusive, professional and supportive!”
