From sketch to reality – A Garden Fireplace project.
(Washington, Tyne and Wear, 09. November 2020) Liz Davies, based on the south coast, had a garden project which had to overcome a certain amount of obstacles. One of the main issues was the lack of a focal point and a sloping garden. After selecting the Schiedel Garden Fireplace, which is formed from natural pumice, sourced from the Hekla Volcano in Iceland, she sketched a design using it as a focal point.
A garden transformed.
The planting brief was to create a Mediterranean feel, so included olive and fig trees, alongside hot coloured flowers and fragrant herbs and climbers.
This has been used on a regular basis since then and completely transforms the outdoor usage of the garden.
